Hate elevator speeches? I do. Both giving and receiving them.
I know it serves a purpose and I would still recommend that you get a handle on yours, if only to get it perfectly clear in your mind what is it that you do. After that, limit its use unless you have a really good one or can blend it into normal conversation.
The conciseness of an elevator speech comes at a cost. Real conversation takes time. Elevator speeches are ads and most people tolerate ads but don’t like them.
If you hate elevator speeches, come join us at Monday Connections. We talk like normal people do.
